Elliot's First Christmas

We had a short, but nice Christmas visit. Elliot gots lots of attention & presents - what more could a girl want? She wanted to eat the wrapping paper, so we couldn't let her play with it. She now has more toys than she knows what to do with & we had to put a new toy shelf in her room! I'm uploading videos to youtube as well. You have to see the one in the pool; she laughed harder than she's ever laughed. She laughed so hard she would lose her voice! http://www.youtube.com/user/smurfarootie December 21 - All for me? YAY! December 21 - Is it Christmas yet?? I want to dig into those presents! December 21 - Santa came early to Mommy & Daddy's! Brought me a Mesh Teether Feeder & big girl sippy cup!! December 21 - Mesh Feeder - my first Banana! And I can feed myself! YES! P.S. Bananas stain & ruin Grinch t-shirts! December 21 - First piano - little musician already! December 22 - In the couple days before heading to Paducah, her favorite past-time was playing in the floor & watching Christmas cartoons!! Is it OK that she watches TV already?? December 24 - Yes, that's all for Elliot...No, we did not fit everything into the car to come back home... December 24 - Monkey from Aunt B, Uncle T & Trevor - she laughs every time she sees it. Also has a matching dress, tights & hat for Elliot! December 24 - Yes, she had two stockings at Grandma & Pawpaw's, one at home, and another one at Granny & Granddad's... December 25 - Ooooh, the lights!! December 25 - China gift from Sarah & Prior December 25 - Mommy & Daddy got me Mr Men & Little Miss books like Daddy had when he was little. But I'd rather chew on that ribbon... December 25 - She does love her green beans! Now we have some we can take with us! December 26, New Harmony - FIRST SWIM! December 26, New Harmony - the aftermath of swimming - don't think we've ever seen her sleep so hard! December 28 - the new "Grandma Face" - chewing her gums together trying to cut a tooth. December 28 - Just a FEW! She also got a pink outdoor swing, giant horse, talking doll, hammer that makes noises...the list goes on & on! However, that blue-eyed, dark-haired 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Doll is really Mommy's... :) December 30 - Rolling from back to belly to get the baby in the mirror!

Cutest Christmas baby, ever.

This week's updates: Elliot is liking her veggies better than cereal. But we learned tonight not to let her see the juice bottle first, or she won't even eat her favorite green beans. She is rolling on her sides a lot & seemingly trying to "crawl away," especially when changing her clothes. She has enjoyed seeing people on the webcam, but she does get bored with it quickly. She enjoys the Jumperoo more & tries to grab the bird that hangs above her. Thanks to the time change last month, she still thinks that 5 am is time to get up. Sometimes I can convince her to wait another 2 hours, but I have to convince her every 15-20 minutes! And 8pm has to be her bedtime, no matter what we do. Her internal clock is amazing! She did take a 3-hour nap Saturday...so did Mommy & Daddy! I'm late sending out Christmas cards, so here's the spoiler photos...enjoy! And there's a new video on the youtube, too. If I have time, there will be more than 1 new video. http://www.youtube.com/user/smurfarootie December 8 - Such a happy girl. December 8 - You didn't think it was all smiles, all the time, did you? I love this shot!! December 10 - Cutest little girl! December 7 - Yes, she can hold her own bottle! This was the second time. Dec 5 was the first time (but the photos aren't great). She will see you holding it, getting ready to sit down with her. She'll take it from you, hold it & feed herself. Last Friday night, she grabbed my glass of water. I let her drink from it & she was very excited! December 12 - she made a new friend this week: her giraffe rattle. She hugs it & chews on it & smiles when we make it rattle.

Beginning to look a lot like FEET

Elliot is five months old now! Time flies, right? She weighs in at ... drum roll please ... 18 pounds! Woohoo! That's a gain of 2.5 pounds from last month! It's hard to measure her at home, but she appears to be 25 1/2", which would be a 1/2" growth from last month. We'll need the bigger carseat very soon! Here are this week's photos... enjoy! Dec 2 - All Christmasy! Dec 2 - new favorite thing: toes. "Who needs Santa? I've got Grandparents!" December 3 - FIVE months old now! Can you believe it? And with a little bit more hair. :) Dec 4 - Feeding herself some pumpkin ... sort of. Dec 4 - No, I don't know where she gets it from... Dec 4 - Happiest baby on earth?? Dec 6 - First Green Beans (home-purred, of course)! Hollered for more & ate 2 "cubes" worth. She likes them! Dec 6 - Another piano lesson with Daddy. Dec 6 - Attempting a family photo... Dec 7 - Getting ready for bed.

Elliot's First Thanksgiving & Santa

We had a nice Thanksgiving visit in Paducah. It never seems to be long enough, but we were all very tired at the end! We saw as many people as possible; those that we missed we hope to see next time. Elliot seems to have a bit of a cold now, so we're running the cool mist machine & I'm calling her pediatrician. There are a TON of photos below. I'll "blog" about our visit along with each photo. Enjoy. November 19 - Happy after some morning cereal at home... November 23 - First Veggie: home-pureed pumpkin. LOVES IT!! Four Generations of Bashes: Harry, Russel, Harry & Elliot Susanne. Elliot is a bit stuffed from her Thanksgiving lunch... Look! I can stand up on my own!! Thanksgiving evening: Paige, Trevor, Elliot & Lacey Nov 28 - Granny & Granddad feed Elliot some pumpkin Granddad being silly. Nov 28 - Ready to go see Santa! This outfit has a Reindeer bib, too. We bought it last year after Christmas before we even knew she was a girl. Granny made the bow for us. Nov 28 - Santa had taken a dinner break, then a big lined form, so Elliot got a nap while waiting. This worked out well, because as you'll see - she was very happy when she woke up & sat in his lap! Waiting for Trevor to talk to Santa. He told Santa to bring Elliot a dress. November 28 - Cousins Trevor & Elliot get to see SANTA!!! Some Santa photos taken from the video. November 29 - So pretty in my outfit from Aunt B. Celebrating Grandma's 50th Birthday (which was the 22nd). November 29 - Grandma feeds Elliot her FIRST Meat - Turkey! Yum! Nov 30 - Back at home & shortly enjoying tummy time. December 1 - Happy little girl this morning - had been playing with her toes again --- her new favorite thing. December 1 - A buck kept running by the window this morning, so I grabbed his photo. He wouldn't stop running, so it's a bit blurry. A doe was also running around. So who was chasing whom? December 1 - happy in her Jumperoo
