Growing so fast ... starting to sit up!

I've been trying to get a video of her "giggles." There are 3 new videos on youtube of her snoring, waking up, and playing piano with Daddy: http://www.youtube.com/user/smurfarootie She's on a regular routine these days - all her own doing. She still wakes up some in the night, but I don't really have to do anything to put her back to sleep. The biggest new thing is, she's trying to sit up! She was sitting on the boppy between us sleeping, and when she woke up I noticed she was leaning up. She's doing it now, too! She leans her head, shoulders & upper back. And strains. Then gets mad that she can't make it. I don't think it will be too long before she can sit up on her own! Baby Legwarmers!

Update: The Biggest-Growth-Spurt-Ever is finally over (after about 2 weeks). She went back to sleeping through the night Tuesday night (9-10 hours)!! Woohoo! She's now taking normal naps during the day, too (instead of 15-minute power naps), and eating a normal amount. And therefore, she is once again a happy-all-the-time baby. Since buying the Bumbo Seat & tray, and putting toys on the tray for her, she's now picking up toys all the time. She has been picking up blankets, etc for a while, but never anything plastic (except her pacifier). She loves to sling the rings, links, etc. In fact, that's what she's doing right now with the keys (even though it's past bedtime...) I've been making baby legwarmers & they are awesome. They're great to have when hanging around the house - easy diaper changes! I'm going to make more, so if you see any cute women's knee socks, grab them for me! I want some Christmas ones (like red/green striped or Christmas characters). 'Til Next time, enjoy these photos... October 21 - Picked up her keys by herself - she likes toys! Growth Spurt Mania

For more than a week Elliot's been going through the biggest growth spurt yet. She demands a ton of food often, yells at me if I'm not fast enough, and has stopped sleeping those 11 hours at night. The kid already wears 6-9Mo stuff at 3.5 months (outgrew her jean skirt that was supposed to be 6-9). What will this growth spurt bring? Her doctor wants to start solids at 4 months, and we're all for it! Here are this past week's photos. Enjoy!! October 19 - Pooh sweatshirt & Eeyore blanket (Cousin Rosemary made me). Yes, it was cold in the house when we woke up & someone fell asleep when we were getting ready to go to the grocery. October 19 - Who says we need to turn on the heat in October?? (just kidding) October 20 - Finally ordered her a Bumbo Seat on eBay. It has taken some getting used to, but I think she likes it. I filled it with toys & she picked them up herself!! This is only the 2nd time she's picked up toys on her own (other than blankets). There's a video on youtube, too.

Learning to Read?

October 10 - Baby's First Boo Outfit October 11 - Elliot's Dr. Seuss Collection - can you find Elliot? October 11 - Is Mommy turning Elliot into a couch potato? October 11 - Throwing this in for fun - Have had many deer in the yard lately. 5 of them keep SLEEPING in the yard through the nights!! This one keeps filling his cheeks for the winter. :) October 13 - Learning to read!! She really likes this Red/Black/White book she got in the mail from the Dolly Parton book-of-the-month Imagination Station program!

New milestones

Elliot is now putting everything she can pick up, into her mouth: blankets, burp cloth - anything laying in her lap. She even took her pink/gray hat off & put that in her mouth. She can also hold onto the rattle in the photo & picked it up once herself. She doesn't stay in the Jumperoo long yet b/c her feet don't touch the ground & she's a little small for it still. Her favorite thing to do is sit up in the boppy or swing. September 29 - with her rattle: October 1 - I guess she loves smurfs, too!! (Russel happened to snap this photo of her smiling in her sleep) October 2 - Firs time in the Jumperoo & she never took her eyes off that bird! October 5 - Her first hiking trip - Albright Grove in the Smokies: October 7 - "No, no swaddle! I'm not tired!!"
